Here is a quick concept I did of our sad sun.... powerful and loving, but in the end he must die, and so must the life he helped to birth. 

Inspired by "How the Universe Works". Images provided by the internets. (no i didn't paint this (it only took 20 minutes) its mostly photo collage with some small painting tweaks to quickly express something)

Jerboa!

So today I randomly found a pic of the cutest little creature! It's called a "long eared jerboa", and he's so stinkin' cute that I had to draw him/her! I did a drawing based on one of the photos, kept the same pose, taking liberties with the character design but trying to stay a little more realistic.

I might do another one, but REALLY push it to cartoony. That's the best thing about character design to me... you can take one reference photo or idea and do endless variations of design with it, all with varying degrees of personality.

A Long way to go...

Quick visual development sketch of a new character in an animated story of mine. This is the first time I've drawn him (the big "bear" guy), so Im sure he'll some as I narrow his character and adjust the design to fit :)... I threw in some environment and my other character to help get a feel for him in context.
