Eagle Character - Inspired by Alvin and the Chipmunks....

I was watching Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, and I loved the look of the eagle in the part where Theodore is in the Zoo.... so I drew a quick version from my head inspired by it.

Here are some more digital concept paintings I did with Colors! on my Nintendo DS. I'd use the same simple composition to mess around painting moods and time of day over the last month... usually in bed at night :)

From Observation to Imagination...

I started this landscape painting from life by observing the amazing sunset outside. One hour later I had strayed from plein air painting to painting from my imagination, and this little piece came out of it. It's so magical to get lost in your art...
